356 911, a 2023 limited edition numbered print, hardback book with 356 pages and special packaging, in English (US).
Description from the seller
Discover an unparalleled view of Porsche's secret archive rooms with Artifacts and gain a comprehensive artistic overview of the historical objects, vehicles, and personal stories that have made Porsche what it is today.
Presented by Type 7 and published by ERG Media with Porsche Museum Edition, Artifacts offers an abstract artistic representation with striking lighting, featuring high-resolution photographs. Each object is carefully examined by the photographer and chief creator Thomas Walk, who focuses on textures, patina, and the history contained within each piece.
Photographed on-site in Zuffenhausen, thousands of historical pieces have been preserved to create a significant selection exploring the full extent of the archives. It includes objects from the Porsche family, design and development equipment from Porsche, cars from the Porsche Museum, and exclusive insights from the archives.
This large-format, 356-page beautiful book accompanies its photographs with a separate detachable index that tells the story of each object. The result is a reading experience that closely resembles that of an archivist reviewing the tangible history of Porsche.
The ERG Media team spared no effort regarding the packaging, collaborating with Andy Cruz of House Industries to create a tactile experience that reflects the sensation of the objects it contains, even designing a custom typeface for the occasion. Arriving wrapped in paper whose elements pay homage to the design schematics of the Porsche 911 Turbo, readers will discover, once the paper is unwrapped, a box of archives with reinforced metal corners. After removing the seal, the book's red slipcase is revealed; it draws inspiration from racing trophies and the thousands of documents lining the shelves of the Archives. Pulling on a ribbon, readers slowly unveil the book, like a physical experience, ultimately discovering a treasure trove of photographs and information inside.
