A Pre-Columbian Veracruz anthropomorphic carved volcanic stone axe head from 400–700 A.D., 25 × 15 × 11 cm, with an open mouth and a powerful warlike expression, semi-polished surface, groove on the back for a handle, acquired at auction in Paris (France) in 2017 from a French private collection, and supplied with an authenticity certificate and a Spanish export license.
Description from the seller
A rare Veracruz antropomorphic ceremonial axe with mouth open with texpression powerful and warlike. Semi polished volcanic stone. Groove on the back for union with the handle | Veracruz, Mexico. Olmecoid influence. 400-700 AD.
Dimensions: 25,00 x 15,00 x 11,00 cm.
Condition: Surface wear due passage of time
Provenance: Auction House - Paris, France (2017). Formerly french private collection.
Notes:
- The piece includes authenticity certificate. The piece includes
Spanish Export License ( Passport for European Union).
- If the piece goes outside the European Union a new export license will
be requested by us, This process can take beteen 2 and 4 weeks.
