Description from the seller
A superb mochica bichrome pottery "florero vessel". The inside decorated with two warriors with Tumi shaped hairdresses holding ropes, a third warrior with bird shaped hairdress catching a large bird by the neck and holding a ceremonial Tumi,and two anthropomorphic characters with the head of a bird facing each other. Two cacti and a flower in the background. Includes thermoluminescence certificate. | Moche. North coast of Peru. 400-700 AD.
Dimensions: 21,00 x 32,00 cm.
Condition: Restored and repainted over fracture lines on neck and foot. Good overall condition.
Provenance: Ex A.A Private Collection - Asturias, Spain. Through inheritance from his father R.A.
