Rococo - Jewellery box - Gold plated, Bronze

A gorgeous antique jewelry box in a luxurious Rococo Neo-classical design, made in gold-plated bronze with rich decoration all around the body and the lid in relief.
The lid features a lovely hand painted portrait set under glass. The portrait is signed on the side, and the glass is intact and held firmly in place. The painting shows some wear from age, and the lid has a light patina, as you can see in the photos, with minor wear. Looks great.

Inside is a light velvet casing with a couple of small stains, but still complete and looks beautiful. The hinge works perfectly and the box opens and closes well. The lid is not perfectly round, so it feels slightly stiff when closing, but it still functions just as it should. A fantastic and unique piece that you really don’t see every day.
