Antique heraldic seal with a wooden handle and a stamped metal plaque, dating from 1900–1910, in an heraldic style and of Italian origin, in good condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
Exceptionally without reservation!
Antique heraldic stamp with noble coat of arms – Probable European area (Germany / Austria / Northern Italy) – Late 19th / early 20th century
Materials: turned wooden handle, engraved metal plate.
Splendid antique heraldic seal, finely hand-engraved, likely belonging to a noble family or a private representation office from the late 19th to early 20th century. The matrix features an elegant escutcheon-shaped coat of arms, topped with a rich baroque mantle and the typical upper heraldic headdress.
Inside the shield, there is a particularly evocative design engraved.
Diagonal band (bar) that crosses the field.
Five-pointed stars, arranged at the corners.
Lower edge with a solid band
The style of the engraving, the complexity of the upper frieze, and the shape of the handle indicate a stamp intended for official correspondence, sealed private documents, or markings on wax seals of noble or upper bourgeois origin.
Solid turned wood handle with a beautiful original patina. The metal plate, fixed with three contemporary nails, retains a clear engraving that is still perfectly legible.
A piece of great historical charm, ideal for collectors of heraldry, antique seals, notarial study objects, or 19th-century memorabilia.
Sara will be well packed and shipped with an express courier.
