Description from the seller
Fossil mammoth gravel - Mammuthus primigenius
Very beautiful large tooth, in good condition, very heavy.
Clear black line on the chewing surface, and the chewing surface is also very beautiful.
What is especially beautiful about this tooth is that parts of the jaw are still present in the roots.
The jaw parts are still nicely held between the roots.
This is why the roots are in excellent condition.
All in all, it is a fragile part and therefore also needs good conservation.
This gravel is desilted and still in clean water; everyone has their own way of preserving it. I am happy to leave that decision to the next owner.
Doggerland no longer exists, but traces of it can still be found on the beaches of the North Sea. It is not uncommon for walkers, enthusiasts, and researchers to find something special there.
Marvelous treasures like a mammoth tooth. Bones are also retrieved from sandbanks and fishing nets, such as this one at the end of 2024.
