AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Rare lot of 26 sepia photogravures on albuminized paper from the late 19th/early 20th century. Image size: 24x18 cm.
1) Seven Parisian landscapes. The photo of the Buttes-Chaumont is definitively attributed to Adolphe Alphand (1817-1891), considered the inventor of Parisian landscape design. This photo is held at the Getty Museum in New York. Adolphe Alphand had been commissioned by the Minister of Culture at the time to photograph the most beautiful landscapes of France and Europe. The photo of the City Hall shows a brownish flow and a small tear at the bottom right within the frame.
2) Four cities in France (launch of the cruiser Hoche from the harbor of Brest, two from Nice, and Mont-St Michel before 1900)
3) 7 landscapes of Switzerland (small tear in the frame on Chillon and Dent du Midi)
4) 8 photos of life in the small village of Sidi-Okba (Algeria, Bistra province) and desert nomads.
The edges of some photos show light fingerprint marks.
