ROMAN GLASS UNGUENTARIUM
Elegant thick glass bottle.
Globular shape, flat shoulder, wide neck and small lip folded inwards, slightly flared.
Roman period, Eastern Mediterranean, probably Egypt - 1st/3rd century AD,
Height 7.4 cm x diameter 5.8 cm - Perfect condition
The glass is highly iridescent with beautiful multi-colored reflections.
Provenance: Germany, Galerie F.P.G.
Previous provenance history: German private collection.
Glass was valuable in Roman times, primarily used for perfumes and for decoration.
The vase is covered with an iridescent layer with multiple reflections, attesting to its antiquity.
