A very attractive small map depicting Europe with beautiful original coloring and a figurative title cartouche. With coats of arms on both sides and german and french text in bands above the map. Very rare.

Copper engraving by Elias Baeck (alias Heldenmuth) (1679-1747),
He was a German painter, engraver, and cartographer. Elias Baeck studied in Rome, where he earned the nickname Heldenmuth (Heroic Courage). He worked in Venice and Ljubljana before finally settling in Augsburg.
He signed his prints E. B. a. H. for Elias Baeck, also known as Heldenmuth. Baeck engraved historical subjects, landscapes, battle scenes, portraits, and maps.
