Pre-Columbian Classic Maya culture - Mexico.

Maya pottery with a group of four monkeys.
Some remaing Maya-blue colour pigment around the eyes.
A very unusual and rare piece.

Time period: ca. 500 - 800 AD
Dimensions: 8 x 8 cm

Provenance: purchased in 2005 in the Netherlands
