Description from the seller

Incredible, it's a very rare hand claw of Afrovenator! A huge Jurassic megalosaur from Niger!

Measure 10 cm on the upper curvature.

This incredible claw is in excellent condition, with a surface and forge in superb preservation! The tip has been professionally restored, as shown in the photo.

This type of claws are much rarer than those of suchomimus, found in the same region but from a more recent formation.

The Afrovenator (Afrovenator abakensis), whose Latin name means 'African hunter,' was a carnivorous dinosaur that lived in Niger during the Middle Jurassic (about 160 million years ago).
The name of the only species assigned to this genus so far, A. abakensis, refers to Abaka, the name the Tuareg use for the region of Niger where the fossils were found. The remains of Afrovenator were discovered in 1993 in the Tiourarén Formation, in the Agadez department of Niger.
