Description from the seller

Torsten Thorup (born 1944) and Claus Bonderup (born 1943) both graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, in 1969, and subsequently went on to work together at the studio of Danish architect Henning Larsen in Copenhagen.

The two architects worked professionally for most of their careers.

This set of 2 vintage Semi Pendant lights was once brought from Denmark. The pendant lamps are based on two quarter circles placed back to back. The striking, arched, enameled metal shade creates a diffuse, conical light, ideal above a dining table or countertop. With its light form, unique timeless design, and variety of colors and sizes, the Semi Pendant is highly versatile and suitable for both modern and Scandinavian interiors.

The Semi Pendant was designed in 1968 as a result of the creative collaboration between Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup. In reaction to the soft, organic shapes of the so-called "cozy" era prevalent in Denmark at the time, Bonderup and Thorup wanted to create a lamp with sharp, clean lines and a geometric shape. Their design was submitted to a competition at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, and won first prize. In the 1980s, the pendant lamp enjoyed great success, becoming the best-selling Danish design of the time, gaining worldwide recognition and iconic status.

It has many names; Trompetlamp, Heksenhoed, and Semi pendel. They have been rewired with approximately 200 cm of white wiring. The condition of these Fog and Morup lamps is certainly still very good, showing normal patina / signs of use from age and wear.

Dimensions: H 24 cm x Ø 39.5 cm

Weight: approximately 1300 grams

Material: coated metal with porcelain fitting
Color: exterior matte silver and interior white.

Both objects are in beautifully preserved pre-owned condition. Not perfect, but just right. Authentic vintage with patina and a story — carefully selected with an eye for detail.
Each vintage lamp shows signs of age and use; they are not new, but the lamps have been well preserved and are safely packed, shipped via registered and insured delivery with a track and trace code.

Seller's Story

I have a passion for vintage design, and my objects mainly come from Scandinavia. I seek out unique gems that are then offered to new owners through this platform. I ensure that the objects are very well packaged so they can arrive safely. I hope that, through my circular mission of sustainability, these beautiful objects can be given a second life, serving as a good example for many others.
