Monymusk Velier - EMB Plummer - Tropical + Continental - b. 2019 - 70cl - 2 bottles

For the first time in 305 years, the Dutch import company Scheer, in collaboration with the Genoese Velier, has agreed to place its name on a label, doing so within a revolutionary project for the world of rum: a double release that allows for the comparison of two Jamaican rums produced in the same distillery, both aged for 14 years but in two different environments.
One was aged in its native tropical climate in Jamaica. The other, instead, in the continental English climate, specifically in Liverpool.

These are two Vatted Single Rums, pot-distilled at the Monymusk Distillery.
The Tropical Aging version is a blend of 10 casks of EMB 2006, 2 casks of EMB 2004, and 4 casks of EMB 2002, entirely aged in Jamaica (Esters: 324.5 g/hpla).
The Continental Aging version is a blend of 12 casks of EMB 2004, entirely aged in Europe (Esters: 129.9 g/hpla).

Tasting these two blends offers the remarkable opportunity to observe the differences between tropical and continental ageing.
