Description from the seller
This set of eleven white porcelain oyster plates is signed 'Pillivuyt France' and bears the K813 mark, indicating production in the 1960s–1970s. Elegant, functional, and representative of French expertise in culinary porcelain, these plates form a complete service ready to be used or displayed.
Each plate takes on a circular shape animated with six cavities, each holding an oyster, arranged around a central well intended for lemon or a sauce. The slightly raised design forms a regular composition reminiscent of the organic roundness of shells. The porcelain has a slightly creamy white hue, very luminous, highlighted by a glossy glaze that accentuates the volumes and play of light.
The set is in very good overall condition. The surfaces are intact, with no chips or cracks, and the enamel remains shiny. Some plates show fine cracks that can be felt by touch: these are slight fissures in the enamel caused by natural aging, which do not affect usability or durability and attest to the piece's authentic character. No structural defects are to be reported.
Founded in 1818 in Mehun-sur-Yèvre, the Pillivuyt house is one of the most renowned French manufacturers for the quality of its cooking and tableware porcelain. Its production, designed to combine durability, artisanal tradition, and timeless lines, has long equipped households as well as major French tables. These plates embody this continuity, illustrating the high standards and technical mastery that have built the factory's lasting reputation.
The average dimensions are:
Height: 2.6 centimeters.
- Diameter: 22.9 centimeters,
Total weight of the set: 5775 grams.
Each of the eleven plates will be carefully packaged, and the entire set will be shipped quickly and securely to arrive before the holiday season and to adorn the table. On-site pickup and group delivery are available. The photos are part of the description.
