Fossil Ammonite Cleoniceras from Madagascar, Lower Cretaceous (about 110–120 million years ago), natural specimen with a polished surface, weight 7836 g and dimensions 332 × 288 × 77 mm.
Description from the seller
A fossilized ammonite of rare beauty, distinguished by its vibrant shades of red and beige, all enclosed in an elegant spiral shape. The polished surface, achieved through careful polishing, displays a pattern of veins intertwined with mineral oxidation, particularly visible in the red and golden hues. This Cleoniceras ammonite, dating back to the Early Cretaceous period (about 110-120 million years ago), provides an important testament to prehistoric marine evolution. Originating from Madagascar, this species lived in warm, shallow marine environments. Its planispiral coiled shell is a classic example of natural symmetry and functionality, with septal chambers that allowed it to control buoyancy.
