Palermo, andata e ritorno, a 2007 first Italian edition, signed by Gabriele Basilico and Ferdinando Scianna, 160 pages, 24 × 17 cm, soft cover, Edizioni di Passagio, Palermo.
Description from the seller
No signed copy by Gabriele Basilico and Ferdinando Scianna was found on the title page. Ten photographs by Gabriele Basilico, almost all in double pages, including 32 in black and white and 8 in color. The photographic commission on Palermo provides an opportunity for the organizers to establish a dialogue throughout the book between Gabriele Basilico and Ferdinando Scianna, both natives of Bagheria, very close to Palermo. It is also an opportunity for Gabriele Basilico to revisit the ports.
This book presents an important feature that is barely noticeable when flipping through the pages but can be detected only if one looks carefully and compares certain pages (see photos). Indeed, some photographs are presented here in two versions: black and white and color, which is unique in Gabriele Basilico's bibliography. This book was published in 2007, and Gabriele Basilico experiments with the use of color, which he revisits in the book on Rome, as well as in books about Moscow or Istanbul, and others. This book thus marks a turning point.
Book from my personal collection, in excellent condition and carefully preserved. Protected shipping with reinforced packaging and guaranteed international tracked postal service. For multiple purchases, group shipment is possible with reimbursement of any excess postal fees paid via Paypal.
To better view the photographs, you can click on one of them to display it on a black background, which highlights it even more and is equipped with front/back functions that you can also exit at any time to return to the standard display.
