Rare handmade large antique Dutch silver snuff/pill box.

Doos is particularly beautiful in shape and handcrafted with great detail.

The box is equipped with a perfectly fitting hinged lid that is manually decorated with a beautifully detailed Old Dutch rural scene.

Tafereel is very detailed and includes many nice details such as: cows, sheep lying in the grass, a farmer leaning against a large tree, grass and bushes, clouds in the sky, and much more (see photos).

The box is inspected and marked with Dutch silver hallmarks, quality mark, the old type sword.

This old Dutch silver hallmark was used from 1906 to 1953 and was stamped on both first and second grade silver.
Also marked with the master mark 'VS' from the silversmith who made the box, Izaak Vos & Aldert Schoorl (Vos & Co).
Were employed as silversmiths in Haarlem from 1915 to 1919.

It is a large pillbox measuring 7.5 cm in length and 5.8 cm in width.

The box, weighing 57.00 grams, is also quite heavy for a pill/snuff box.

The entire item is at least 100 years old for its age and is in exceptionally rare, beautiful, and pristine condition (perhaps with only minimal signs of use).
