Description from the seller

Solitair Passerine (Monticola solitarius) – 9x12x22 cm

Elegant specimen of the solitary sparrow, a species belonging to the Muscicapidae family. Despite its name, it is not a true sparrow, but an insectivorous bird with a melodious and melancholic song, which has inspired poets and writers for centuries, including Giacomo Leopardi, who celebrated it in the famous poem 'The Solitary Sparrow'.

The adult male, like the specimen presented here, is distinguished by its characteristic uniform slate blue plumage, which makes it immediately recognizable and of great aesthetic value. Inhabiting rocky walls, ruins, and mountains, it is a silent and fascinating presence in Mediterranean and Eurasian landscapes.

Conditions: Good, well-preserved plumage and still vibrant colors.

Support: Naturalistic wooden base

A specimen of notable interest for both ornithological collectors and those seeking a decorative piece with strong cultural and symbolic appeal.
Preparation in perfect condition
Weight approximately 0.5 kg.
Shipping via courier
