Description from the seller

Passera lagia (Petronia petronia) – 9x10x19 cm

Specimen of the Rock Sparrow, a small finch belonging to the Passeridae family. Widespread throughout much of southern Europe and Asia, it prefers arid and rocky environments, often associating with areas with rocks, walls, or rural buildings, where it nests in natural cavities or ravines.

Compared to the common house sparrow, the European rock sparrow has mottled brown plumage with more sober tones and a distinctive yellow mustache on its chest, a distinctive feature of the species. The specimen on offer maintains these characteristics clearly visible, with its upright, natural posture enhancing it against a naturalistic wooden base.

Condition: Good, well-preserved plumage and recognizable details

Support: Naturalistic wooden base

A specimen of certain interest for ornithological collectors and lovers of less common species, which well represents the diversity of the group of sparrows in taxidermy.

Weight approximately 0.5 kg.
Shipping via courier
