First edition (1983) hardcover photobook by Yasuhiro Ishimoto titled Yasuhiro Ishimoto – “Chicago, Chicago 2” (Libroport), 157 pages, monochrome photography, in Japanese.
Description from the seller
A highly collectible first edition (1983) of “Chicago, Chicago 2”, published by Libroport as the long-awaited continuation of Yasuhiro Ishimoto’s landmark 1969 photobook.
This volume presents a refined and expanded visual record of Chicago, combining previously unpublished images from the original project with new photographs taken during Ishimoto’s 1982 return to the city.
Through masterful monochrome compositions, Ishimoto captures the city’s architectural density, urban rhythm, and human presence with the clarity and precision that defined his career. High-rise modernist structures, historical buildings, street life, beach scenes, and winter landscapes appear in strong contrast and geometric harmony—hallmarks of Ishimoto’s signature visual language.
