This object is a medieval belt buckle / strap end, also known as a 'strap end'.
Belt ends are used to decorate the end of a strap or band and to prevent it from fraying. This specific type of belt end, dating from the 14th / 15th century, is made of a copper alloy. Belt ends from this period were often characterized by intricate, intertwined designs featuring animal and geometric motifs.
Dimensions: 108 x 13 x 9 mm (including chain)
The watch strap end with an attached chain has engraved geometric patterns. The chain consists of simple, round links.
