AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Brutalist Art Deco vase from the Faïencerie de Bouffioulx in Belgium.

Beautiful earthenware vase with drip glaze of grass green and beige bands on a dark brown glazed background. The faïencerie de Thulin also produced similar drip glaze objects. On both sides, there are handles shaped like three progressively larger spheres. At the bottom, it is marked with 'Made in Belgium' and the trademark stamp F and B (for Faïencerie de Bouffioulx) with a crown above.

De Faïencerie de Bouffioulx was founded in 1922 by a group of investors, of whom Auguste Goret was a representative. The factory produces, besides decorative objects such as vases with enamels, tiles made of earthenware or sandstone. Many buildings in Belgium are decorated with tiles from the Bouffioulx earthenware factory. Due to foreign competition, the factory was forced to close in 1960.
