Hellenistic bronze head of Alexander
Bronze head depicting Alexander with abundant, curly hair.
This separately molded head ends at the base of the neck and was probably attached to a now-lost body.
Thick and solid wall, the head is slightly tilted to the left. The pupils are worked cold, entailed and dotted in a circular manner.
The face is framed by wavy hair strands of the anastole type, a hairstyle commonly associated with Alexander's well-known hairstyles.
The top of the head is topped with a rounded-edged hat, contrasting with the richness of the hair.
Beautiful light green patina areas with slightly corroded surfaces.
The statuette is highlighted by a white marble base.
Dimension: Height 6.8 cm (height 12.4 cm with the base)
