Description from the seller
Beromat “Jonna” – Mechanical 3-Reel Slot Machine – Germany/Denmark – ca. 1935 – Original Mechanism – Fully Functional
⸻
Description (Technical Collector’s Version)
Offered for auction is a pre-war mechanical 3-reel slot machine “Beromat – Jonna”, manufactured in Germany around 1935, configured for the Danish 25-øre coin standard.
This is an early mechanical payout machine with a full steel-lever chassis, cam-based reel stopping system and original payout tube assembly.
Mechanism & Construction
• 3 mechanical reels, each mounted on a central spindle with individual detent wheels and calibrated reel-stop arms.
• Sequence-controlled stop mechanism using spring-loaded arresting levers.
• Payout selector driven by the main vertical clutch shaft, connected to a horizontally oriented payout slide.
• Original coin path, with inspection tube, coin gate and coin acceptance trigger.
• Two payout cylinders visible in the internal right section (standard for Beromat pre-war construction).
• Reel bands: original paper strips with intact colours and alignment marks.
• No electrical components – the machine functions entirely through mechanical energy transfer and spring tension.
Internal Condition
The internal mechanical unit is complete, with no missing levers, cams, springs or stop arms.
The original German service sheet “Zur Beachtung!” is preserved inside the cabinet – useful for maintenance and confirming authenticity.
All three reels spin freely and lock precisely at their stop positions.
The payout mechanism activates correctly when a winning combination is aligned.
Springs, stop plates, and shafts appear original and period-correct. No modern replacement parts.
Exterior
• Original Beromat cast-metal front with deep blue-green finish.
• Coin entry plaque “25 Øre” and Danish reward table (Gevinstplan) intact.
• Cabinet has been refinished, but retains correct proportions and mounting points.
Rarity
This is a rare Danish-market Beromat, significantly less common than the German 10-Pfennig variants.
Machines with Danish payout cards, 25-øre configuration and original internal documentation seldom appear on the European collector’s market.
Functionality
• Mechanism tested: reels spin and stop correctly
• Coin acceptance system functioning
• Payout slide engages and releases correctly
• No mechanical resistance or missing motion transfer links
• Ready for operation or display
Dimensions
Approx. 55 × 40 × 25 cm
Weight approx. 20–25 kg
Collector Notes
A strong example of pre-war mechanical engineering, ideal for advanced collectors of early coin-op technology, museums, and restorers. The preserved mechanism, original reel bands and Danish configuration make it a highly desirable and investment-worthy piece.
