Description from the seller

Seleucid Kingdom – Philip I Philadelphos (c.95–75 BC) – AR Tetradrachm – NGC Ch AU, Strike 5/5, Surface 3/5

High-grade silver tetradrachm of Philip I Philadelphos, struck c.95–75 BC, certified by NGC as Ch AU with an exceptional Strike 5/5 and Surface 3/5.
The portrait shows an outstanding level of detail, with sharply rendered curls and facial features, fully coherent with Ch AU standards. The reverse depicts Zeus enthroned, holding Nike, surrounded by a complete and well-struck legend.

The coin shows excellent metal quality, full weight (15.31 g) and a clear, problem-free silver surface. The small green speck visible on the obverse is stable ancient malachite, a common and harmless mineral inclusion found on genuine Seleucid silver.

An exceptional example for the type – coins of Philip I with Strike 5/5 seldom appear on the market.

NGC Certification number: 8235573-004
Holder: NGC Ancients, sealed and intact.

A premium Seleucid tetradrachm, highly attractive to advanced collectors.
