Extremely rare antique Russian icon 'Transfer of the relics of St. Nicholas to Bari' from the 19th century (see expertise).

Hand-painted on a wooden panel with egg tempera paints on a chalk ground and gold primer. A typical method of icon creation in 18th and 19th century Tsarist Russia.

The motif is very rare and highly sought after among collectors and connoisseurs of the field.

The size of the icon is likely to be particularly interesting. Such small-format icons with rare motifs are very seldom seen in icon painting.
