Description:
This TOMIX set includes two classic JNR freight wagons — the KOMU 1 Type (with a refrigerated container) and the CHI 1 Type (with earthen pipes).
Both represent the small freight cars that supported Japan’s local cargo transport during the Showa era.

The KOMU 1 type was a lightweight covered wagon introduced in the 1960s for short-distance and small-lot cargo.
The refrigerated container version was used for transporting perishable goods such as dairy and produce, reflecting Japan’s modernization of freight transport at the time.

The CHI 1 type, introduced in the early Showa period, was an open wagon designed for light cargo like cement pipes, tiles, and timber.
Its compact 10-ton capacity made it ideal for local branch lines and short-haul operations.

This TOMIX set faithfully reproduces the unique character of both cars — including the KOMU 1’s container detailing and the CHI 1’s pipe load.
With precise molding, fine printing, and realistic color tones, the models capture the nostalgic atmosphere of Japan’s freight trains from the mid-20th century.
