This is the TOMIX 2113 model of the JNR EF81 Electric Locomotive.
The real EF81 was introduced in 1968 as a versatile AC/DC dual-voltage locomotive designed to operate seamlessly across both electrification systems.
It served on major routes such as the Hokuriku, Joban, and Uetsu Lines, hauling both passenger and freight trains throughout Japan.

The locomotive’s rose pink (color No. 13) body with silver trim became a hallmark of the late JNR era.
It later gained fame as a leading locomotive for iconic sleeper trains such as the Hokutosei, Nihonkai, and Twilight Express.

TOMIX’s model faithfully reproduces the body color, pantographs, and underframe detailing with remarkable precision.
