The set consists of a diesel locomotive series F-7, one passenger car, one restaurant car, and one baggage car.
4-pin connection plugs between the carriages
Five train sets were built for the Dutch/Swiss TRANS-EUROP-EXPRESS. After one train from the SSB was out of service in 1971 due to accident damage, the second SBB train and three from NS were sold to the Canadian Ontario Northland in 1976/77 and converted according to North American regulations. Around 1980, locomotives were equipped with heavier engines (manufacturer General Motors). These were better suited to withstand the harsh Canadian winters. Under the name 'Northlander,' the three 'TEE's' continued their service until 1992.
