Very beautiful table.
An extraordinary sculptural form made of one piece of Solid Wood* (without any joints!)
Unique furniture in Wabi-sabi Style**, finished with Yakisugi Method***.
Rich in exceptional table top details and very noble in touch!
Made by artist Ros Khavro.
DIMENSIONS
height: 39cm, length: 71cm, width: 56cm

FORM
Carved with chainsaw from a one piece of solid poplar wood*, hand finished. Tanned with fire (yakisugi***), stained with a natural "rich black" stain and waxed with natural wax.
WOOD
* (Table is made of solid poplar wood. It's a light wood but very strong and hard to break.)
STYLE
** (Wabi-sabi (侘寂) - traditional Japanese aesthetics - a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. It is sometimes described as one of appreciating beauty that is "imperfect and incomplete" in nature.)
METHOD
*** (Yakisugi (焼杉) is a traditional Japanese method of wood preservation. By slightly charring the surface of the wood without combusting the whole piece, the wood becomes water-proof through the carbonisation and is thus more durable. It also protects against insects, as well as making the wood fire retardant.)
