Description from the seller

In the center appears the Archangel Michael (inscription above: Арх. Михаилъ), with wings spread and dressed in military attire—as a celestial protector.
It is holding an image of Christ in the form of a mandylion (the face of Christ not made by human hands), a symbol of defense and spiritual victory.

Around them are four church hierarchs, all with golden halos and episcopal vestments:

In the lower left: a bishop holding a book or icon.

Behind him (top left): another saint with the inscription 'Еролаи...' (possibly Saint Erasmus / Saint Jerome according to stylized reading).

Bottom right: another bishop, with a long beard and liturgical attire.

To his back (upper right): another saintly monk or priest.

These saints seem to represent protectors and defenders of the Orthodox faith, accompanying Archangel Michael, leader of the heavenly armies.

The topic is usually called:

The Archangel Michael with the Holy Hierarchs
o
The Archangel Michael and the Mandylion of Christ

And emphasizes:

The defense of the Church against evil.

The healing and protective power of the image of Christ.

Russian icon from the 19th century

Tempera painting on wood.

Traditional technique with polispero and dark lacquers typical of popular Russian workshops.
