Concept
During his stay in Samoa in the 60s, as a consultant for the UN, Jørgen Gammelgaard had only a simple fluorescent tube as the only light. The task, in order to get a better quality of light, was solved by placing the fluorescent tube on top and providing it with a series of cut-to-size plastic covers. It became the inspiration for this lamp, which was bought by the Statens Kunstfond immediately after its presentation.
The original idea is beautifully reproduced with the 6 handmade aluminum screens.
