Description from the seller
This 1992 original edition (sold out to date) is new and unread.
This is a collection of photographic portraits taken by Sara Facio between 1960 and 1992.
Sara Facio played a pioneering role in promoting and disseminating photography as an art form in Argentina.
The photographs include both portraits of famous personalities (writers, artists, intellectuals, Latin American cultural figures) and portraits of ordinary or anonymous people.
The photographs are mainly in black and white, with some images retouched (touches of color or artistic processing) — playing with light, introspection, atmosphere.
The choice of subjects and the sensitivity of the photographer—trained in fine arts—aim to capture the identity, soul, and history of the subjects, often marked by the cultural and political context of Latin America.
María Elena Walsh's introduction and La Azotea's editorial approach place the work within a cultural and engaged context — the desire to document faces, voices, eras through photography.
