Description from the seller
Weapons from Hamburg (1669) – Large handcrafted wooden model – 112 cm – highly detailed – historic German warship.
This impressive wooden scale model depicts the Waffen von Hamburg (1669), a 17th-century warship that served in the fleet of the Free Hanseatic City of Hamburg. The model is crafted with great skill and shows all the characteristic details of this elegant North European sailing ship from the Golden Age: the colorful green aft superstructure, the richly decorated stern, the full armament, and the extensive rigging.
De Waffen van Hamburg is a relatively unknown but historically very interesting ship – models of this are seldom available, making this specimen especially attractive to collectors.
Why this model is rare
The ships from Hamburg are not mass-production ships like the well-known Victory or Enterprise.
Only a few building kits of this ship exist (mostly from Euromodel or smaller German producers).
As a result, finished models of this quality are very scarce on the market.
Origin: private collection.
Carefully built by an experienced model builder.
Due to size and fragility, the item will need to be picked up in Weert - Netherlands.
Keywords: model ship, ship model, model boat, model building, model, construction, scale model, hobby, imitation on a small scale, scale model example, boat, ship, frigate, sea, sailors, ships, pirates, pirate boat, VOC, Golden Age, three-masted, two-masted, master, Lemsteraak, barque, vitrine, display, dome, plexiglass, glass, Wasa, Vasa, San Felipe, San Philippe, Felippe. Norske Lowe. Norwegian laws. Royal Louis.
