Pre-Columbian Veracruz Pottery – Remojadas
Gulf Coast, Mexico, ca. 600- 900 AD

Elaborately constructed pottery elevated bed with a reclining figure gazing upwards.
Double tiered bed with a high arched headrest, decorated on both sides with relief geometric decoration.
The lower level of the bed is additionally decorated with a low relief geometric decoration.
Natural buff color ground with areas of painted red-pink highlights.

Scattered mineral deposits and encrustation on the surface.
Repaired from approximately eight original pieces with some visible break lines.

Time period: Ca. 600 - 900 AD
