Vessel, Veracruz pottery elevated bed with a reclining figure from Mexico, a Pre-Columbian artefact dating ca. 600–900 AD, 22 cm long and 20 cm high, in good condition, provenance from Arte Primitivo auction house in New York and supplied with a COA.

Pre-Columbian Veracruz Pottery – Remojadas
Gulf Coast, Mexico, ca. 600- 900 AD
Elaborately constructed pottery elevated bed with a reclining figure gazing upwards.
Double tiered bed with a high arched headrest, decorated on both sides with relief geometric decoration.
The lower level of the bed is additionally decorated with a low relief geometric decoration.
Natural buff color ground with areas of painted red-pink highlights.
Scattered mineral deposits and encrustation on the surface.
Repaired from approximately eight original pieces with some visible break lines.
A rare type.
Time period: Ca. 600 - 900 AD
Dimensions: 22 cm long - 20 cm high
Provenance: auctionhouse Arte Primitivo in New York
Private Florida collection, acquired from Barry Kernerman, Toronto, ex. Samuel Dubiner, Tel Aviv, 1960
