Description from the seller
Rare 1989 Collector’s Edition – The Making of Tintin: Mission to the Moon (Methuen) Hardcover
Description:
Offered here is a beautiful and increasingly scarce 1989 Methuen hardcover edition of The Making of Tintin: Mission to the Moon. Published as the English companion volume to Hergé’s iconic lunar adventures
Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon, this book provides a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the research, sketches, and creative development that shaped these landmark Tintin stories.
Lavishly illustrated and highly collectible, this title remains one of the most desirable works in the “Making of Tintin” series and a standout addition to any Hergé library.
Condition: This copy is in excellent condition, with only two minor cosmetic notes for full accuracy:
A very fine, shallow surface scratch on the front cover near the spine (see photos). It sits in the glossy top layer, is thin and discreet, and becomes visible mainly when light catches it at an angle. It does not break colour and remains a subtle flaw that does not impact the overall presentation.
Light corner bump to one board edge
Aside from these small points, the book is remarkably well preserved, spine and boards remain clean, bright, and structurally sound. Interior is near mint, with crisp pages free from writing, stains, or tears. Binding tight and solid, no loose or detached pages. Original blue-and-white Hergé character endpapers are intact and beautifully preserved.
Please review all photos carefully—they form an essential part of the listing.
