Description from the seller
Richard Ginori service – Pesci / Ittico series – 6 plates + large tray
Good general condition – 1950s/60s – rare decorative set.
Splendid Richard Ginori service consisting of 6 flat plates and 1 large oval serving plate, belonging to the famous and highly sought-after fish/seafood series, one of the most distinctive and decorative patterns produced by the manufactory in the post-war period.
Each plate features a different subject, with fish, marine fauna, and aquatic vegetation, illustrated with a surprisingly painterly, almost naturalistic rendering that recalls the illustrative plates of the mid-twentieth century. The gold 'curled' border is typical of the early Ginori hand-decorated productions of that era.
Composition
Six decorated flat plates (diameter approximately 24–26 cm)
• Large oval serving platter (approximately 36–40 cm)
Brand
Richard Ginori brand – typical of Italy in the 1950s and 1960s, primarily used in artistic lines and decorative services of the era.
Conditions
Good overall condition.
Normal signs of aging, small wear, and light nuances of the decoration consistent with the age.
No obvious breakage or chip.
Overall very good preservation for such a delicate and rare series.
Why rare
This model, especially in the complete 6 + 1 set with a large tray, is now much more difficult to find. Each plate features a different design, a characteristic that makes the service particularly decorative and sought after by collectors and interior designers.
