■Description

The KATO N-Gauge “Nahane 20 5-Car Set” (5087-1) reproduces a consist centered around the Nahane 20 second-class sleeping cars from JNR’s iconic Series 20 night train coaches. Introduced in 1958, the Series 20 was Japan’s first fully air-conditioned sleeping car and marked a major step forward in long-distance passenger comfort.

This set accurately models the distinctive features of the Series 20, including the JNR blue livery, smooth rounded roof, characteristic window arrangement, and detailed roof equipment. It serves as an excellent foundation for building realistic night train formations, either as a standalone set or combined with other Series 20 coaches. Perfect for recreating classic JNR long-distance sleeper operations.
