■Description

The KATO N-Gauge “EF64 1010 JR Freight Test Livery” (3023-2) models the uniquely painted EF64 1010, which received a special test livery (blue and light gray) during the early JR Freight era.

The EF64 1000 series locomotives were designed for steep mountainous routes and were widely used on the Chuo, Shinonoi, and Joetsu Lines. Unit 1010 is particularly notable for being temporarily repainted for livery testing shortly after JR Freight was established.

The model accurately reproduces the distinctive color scheme, side stripes, rooftop equipment, and front markings. It is a rare and highly collectible variation, perfect for recreating late JNR to early JR Freight container and mixed freight operations.
