Don Quixote (The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha) – a famous novel by the Spanish Renaissance writer Miguel de Cervantes. The first part of the work was published over 400 years ago, in 1605, while the second was published in 1615. The novel tells the story of a nobleman who falls into madness and sets out into the world with the desire to help people and defend the weak.
In 2005, the 400th anniversary of the first publication of 'Don Quixote of La Mancha' by Miguel de Cervantes was celebrated, the most famous novel in world literature.
The novel is considered a foundational work of Western literature and is often referred to as the first modern novel and the most outstanding work ever written.
'Don Quixote' is one of the most translated books in the world and one of the best-selling novels of all time.
