Beautiful and large hand-carved Surinamese wall panel from the Maroon tradition (Aukan/Saramaccan).
Executed in hard tropical wood with the recognizable kerfsnede technique: zigzag motifs, sun patterns, and organic lines that represent protection, life energy, and connectedness.

The work is entirely handcrafted and displays a strong and rhythmic pattern that is typical of traditional Surinamese woodcarving from the 20th century.
