AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Carved in high relief with one ear, extremely nice details. Beside it an offering table or offering mat. “Trial pieces”, also known as “sculptor’s trial pieces” or “practice pieces”, were small limestone (or schist) reliefs used by apprentice craftsmen to practice carving faces, hieroglyphs, or proportions. Many come from Amarna and other workshop sites. A practice rendering of an ear was a common motif for sculptor’s trial pieces, as well as a practice carving signs like hieroglyphs for learning to carve formal relief signs.
