Collectif - Album : Liber Amicorum [Cartonnage romantique] - 1855-1857

Charming Liber amicorum in the form of a romantic box, containing 20 handwritten pages (and 24 blank pages) written with a pen in French or German between 1855 and 1857.

Beautiful romantic cardboard box with a blue background, adorned with rich gold and white decor, featuring a medallion in the center decorated with a bouquet of flowers. The back is smooth with a geometric pattern. Gilded edges.

Each page features a passage from the Bible, a quote, or a proverb ('I did not come to judge the world but to save it.' John 12:47). Signed by different people: Augusta Gordon, Pauline Geerinz, Anna Honvard, Sophie Kronbach, etc.

The work appears to belong to Emil Willi, with a printed bookplate framed with lace bearing the mention 'from Neustadt in Black Forest.'

A fine copy, in very good condition. Some slight rubbing on the back and corners.
