Artigianato Italiano - Sculpture, Cavallo - 86 cm - Solid Wood

This wooden horse, handcrafted in Italy in the late 1800s, is hand-carved from a few assembled elements and displays a deliberately simple craftsmanship, where the main volumes are directly sculpted without overly polished finishes.
The wood, now darkened by time, reveals a deep and uneven patina, with smoother areas worn down by use and rougher sections that retain authentic traces of manual tools. Small cracks, material shrinkage, and asymmetries typical of natural aging and manual craftsmanship of the era are visible. The surface appears to have been treated over time with oil or wax, which has helped enhance the warm tones and protect the wood fiber.
