AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

This lens is the NIKKOR-PC f2.5 'GAUSS' version dating from 1972. Nikon has improved this version both functionally and optically. The previous versions had a silver cylinder, which could contribute to image degradation due to reflections from the shiny metal cylinder and screw thread, so it was replaced with a black cylinder. Also interesting is the wide focusing ring for easier focusing. These changes give it a modern look combined with the robustness of a fully metal construction. The optical formula of this lens was perfected in 1972; the original 'Sonnar' type design was replaced by a 'Xenotar' type design, now known as the 'Gauss' version. This 'Gauss' variant can be easily recognized simply by looking at the size of the rear element. The coatings on the Gauss version have also been significantly improved compared to previous versions.

This lens is in mint condition. No mold, no dust, no scratches, and no signs of use to note. It comes in the original box.

If you want to own a legendary manual focus lens, this might be the right one. It performs very well, especially when combined with cameras with many megapixels, and after all this time, that's quite an achievement!
