The first signed in full in the original by Maestro Manara and the others all signed in pencil in the original by the Maestro.
Milo Manara's masterpiece in its complete version, a classic of erotic literature, 'Aphrodite,' was one of the biggest successes in bookstores during the Belle Epoque. Pierre Louys conceived 'Aphrodite' as 'an ancient novel about women and their light': a definition that, in itself, makes it seem written to be illustrated. This is what Milo Manara did, giving shape and color to the author's erotic visions.
Manara takes on the task of illustrating Aphrodite, a pearl of late 19th-century French erotic literature signed by poet and writer Pierre Louis. Illustrations endowed with a unique charm. A portfolio and high-quality lithographs born from the hand of Master Manara.
