5 axes driven
With digital decoder and controlled high-power drive. 5 axes driven.
4 anti-slip bands. Good running through curves with articulated train. Front light traditionally in operation, digitally switchable. Equipped for later installation of smoke unit 7226. Smoke unit contact and acceleration and braking delay with Control Unit 6021, digitally switchable. Adjustable short coupling between locomotive and tender. Length over buffers 26.0 cm / 26.2 cm.
The classic workhorse for heavy freight trains in the 1950s and 1960s was undoubtedly the series 44. These legendary machines could handle the large freight flows of the expanding economy during the so-called Wirtschaftswunder. This was the peak and golden era of the 2,000 hp and 185-ton Jumbo's, as the machines of the series 44 were called.
