Description from the seller
Turist Турист Analog camera
The camera is presented at auction in the condition it was found, to preserve its beauty and originality. See photo.
Since the camera has not been tested with film, I cannot say for certain that it will work without maintenance.
La Turist (Tourist) is a foldable camera with a rectangular bakelite body, produced by the Soviet manufacturer GOMZ in 1934. It was one of the three main photographic products on the Soviet market in 1936 (ten years after the start of the Soviet photographic industry); the other two were the foldable camera Fotokor No. 1 (and a similar camera produced by Arfo), which was expected to be a Soviet Avus, and as a flagship product, the 35 mm FED telemeter camera. In the same year, the first prototype series of the 35 mm Sport reflex camera was ready, criticized in the July 1936 issue of Sovjetskoe Foto. This camera still required some improvements before its production in 1937. Therefore, La Turist was a low-end Soviet photographic product of its time, similar to Fotokor in not meeting the high expectations of Soviet photographers, while high-end products already reached the promising 35 mm camera market with an advanced level of quality.
Before making an offer, carefully read the description, look at the photos, and follow the instructions below.
The shipment will be made via courier express with due attention to avoid damages, see photo.
The packaging is included in the shipping price.
Note: In case of shipping to the islands (Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica, or other hard-to-reach islands), please contact Catawiki to get a shipping quote, as the indicated shipping costs refer to mainland Italy.
