Chest of drawers - Walnut, Burr walnut, Maple - 18th century

Beautiful Baroque-style chest of drawers (Barocchetta) from 18th-century Germany, made of walnut wood and walnut veneer with maple inlays. The style features flowing, rounded shapes on the front, often identified as Louis XV, especially for Italian and Venetian furniture of the period. The structure is typically made of fir, with walnut veneer and walnut inlay to achieve a decorative effect and rich grain patterns. It has a strongly shaped front, three drawers, and turned legs at the front. The handles and lock escutcheons are in gilded bronze and are completely original to the period, still fully functional with a key, and in very good condition. The feet are probably replaced.
