GEORGE KRAMER
The silversmith Georg Kramer founded his business in 1771 in Ribnitz Damgarten, Germany.
His descendant is the master goldsmith Walter Kramer, who started designing the famous silver 'fish jewelry' in 1932, which were mostly decorated with amber.
In 1959, Walter won the patent dispute, which led the state company to change its name to 'VEB Ostsee-Schmuck'.
Walter passed away in 1990 in Lubeck-Travemunde.
Fischland Schmück was the official successor of the company Georg Kramer, which continued to exist in Travemünde.
The patent rights were returned to Ribnitz in 2009.
The current owner is the Ribnitzer Amber Gallery.
